Austin's Best Pizza Parlors

Austin's Best Pizza Parlors

Do you want to enjoy a meal out tonight?

When the pizza craving strikes, it's hard to fight. Treat yourself to pepperoni, pineapple, or sausage and veggies at a local parlor.

Here are a few favorites:

Home Slice Pizza

Step into Home Slice to enjoy New York-style pizza by the slice or entire pie. When Jen Strickland opened the restaurant with her husband and former college roommate, it quickly became popular. To keep up with the crowd, they established an adjacent shop for takeout orders. Home Slice boasts a 4.5-star rating on Yelp as guests enjoy the quick service and retro decor. Pizzas include white clam, eggplant pie, and pepperoni & mushroom. They pair well with a pint of Brooklyn East IPA.

Via 313

Owned by brothers Zane and Brandon Hunt, Via 313 proudly offers authentic Detroit-style pizza. They source ingredients from area butchers and farmers and make the dough using classic techniques. The brothers visit Detroit every year, and along with the restaurant, they also run a food truck. The rectangular pizzas bake in a metal pan. Choices include The Herbivore, The Rocket, and The Ambassador Bridge. To drink, try Faygo Pop. It has been Detroit's soda since 1907.

Marye's Gourmet Pizza

At Marye's Gourmet Pizza, diners find a new spin on the classic restaurant. The chefs make the dressings and sauces from scratch, and let the dough rest for a day before hand-tossing it to ensure a golden crust. Marye's fun atmosphere features yellow booths, unique light fixtures, and gray and white striped walls. Specialty pizzas include Florentine, Mother Lode, and Nature's Treat. Happy hour is held daily between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., with  discounts on beer, wine, and starters.
